Developing a Methodology to Assess the Environmental Footprint of Poste Italiane's SPID App
We created Italy’s first methodology to evaluate the environmental footprint of Poste Italiane’s SPID App, following the GHG Protocol and ISO 14067. We defined data collection and analysis processes covering the app’s life cycle, including energy consumption, mobility, consumables, and operations in data centers and branches. By segmenting usage profiles, we identified relevant phases and excluded non-pertinent ones. The result is an accurate carbon footprint calculation and the identification of emission reduction measures, supported by performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor energy efficiency and carbon management strategies to enhance competitiveness.
